Let’s call it what it is… a rag.

If you’ve been around the crunchy block long enough or even just a little while you’ve heard talk of the unpaper (this is actually a specific brand) towel or reusable paper towel. But let’s be honest. It’s a rag. It can be a nice rag but a rag nonetheless. What was once the standard cleaning material in all homes is suddenly a chic, environmentally friendly, street cred for the crunchy.  But being that I’m not just crunchy but a cheapskate buying a set of these is just not going to happen*. However when asked would I like a grocery bag full of cheap towels from an office the answer is “Absolutely I do!” and continue to make them into my own cleaning rags.
These were a little large for my smallish hands which would mean multiple folds to be a useable size. Thrifter that I am I asked my dear Aunt if I should would serge them for me since I do not own one. Cut in half and serged they are easy to fold in half and work quite well for the little things that need cleaning. Plus I get more out of it this way. I did leave some whole for the bigger jobs like when someone spills a glass of milk at dinner. I also colored the thread on some orange to use exclusively in the bathroom.
For general cleaning I like to pair it with Earthley’s cleaning spray concentrate (20% OFF new scents 5/6/22-5/9/22 with code SPRINGLAUNCH) along with a few drops of Simply Earth’s Clean and Fresh essential oil  (use code CRUNCHYFREE if you subscribe to the box and get a $40 gift card). The combo does the job naturally (hello we’re crunchy here) and smells fantastic!
*I have nothing against the brands/people out there making and selling these. Honestly it’s a genius move and if you can’t DIY you buy.
**Earthley and Simply Earth are affiliate links meaning if you use them to buy something I get a little commission but with no cost to you. It’s a win win.
